Held in Russia, World Content Market Moscow Spring (WCM) is one of the largest media exhibitions in Russian- speaking region, which targets the Russian content market, attracting an average annual participation of some 1,200 people representing over 500 companies from over 40 countries and regions. The event brings representatives from American, European and Asian media companies to meet with executives of Russian and CIS’s major TV channels and production and distribution companies for in-depth discussions on cooperation in the areas of content, platform and funding, with many agreements concluded.
2017 Events:
China Pavilion
The 2017 China Pavilion featured the largest ever scope of events, including the forum that attracted representatives from many influential Russian media organizations, such as All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, Channel One Russia, and CTC Media, who discussed with Chinese media executives the current status of media development in Russia and China and the opportunities for cooperation between the two countries. The debut of “Feeling China” – Chinese Film and TV Programme Screening attracted an audience of 120 who responded with rounds of applause.
Nine Chinese media organizations joined in the exhibition at the 2017 China Pavilion, namely SMG, Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation, China Movie Channel, Huace Group, DYTM, Daneng Cultural Communication, China Food TV, WinSing Animation, and Zoland. They represented a more diversified portfolio of exhibitors from the content areas of film, television, animation, documentary and TV programmes. The largest team of Chinese exhibitors attracted the most attention with their well set-up exhibitions, which shows the importance attached by China to media exchange between China and Russia and Chinese cultural companies’ strong desire to interact with their Russian counterparts. More importantly, it indicates the Russian market’s keen interest in Chinese contents.
